LIAM LIVE SESSIONS PART II

I vividly remember writing this song, I was actually wearing this same flannel. What inspired this song titled First Frost? Well it was the first frost of course.

I woke up a little closer to my wife than usual. Typically, I am a fiery furnace when I sleep, so I don't get to snuggle as much as I want to. I have my theories as to why I need to sleep with a fan in the middle of the coldest winter, the best one: I was literally born in a car, in the middle of December, and with the wind chill it was -22 outside. I think my body developed a super power so I wouldn't die in that ford festiva that cold December day.

Well, I pleasantly woke up snuggled to my wife, put on my warm flannel, and sipped my coffee, while soaking in all the fresh renewing feels of this frosty day. It was obviously impactful (that isn't a word!?), as I wrote a song about it.

My best friend, Peter Delap, who was the best man in my wedding, is an incredibly talented videographer. This is a powerful example of that. I am very grateful for you, brother. I love you.

Here are the lyrics:

The first frost last night, but I don't mind

Cause' I get to sleep a bit closer to you

Wake up to the cold autumn sun

It pulls away, I pull you closer to my heart

The First Frost My Dear, your breath is the first thing I feel

Waking up in a cold room, with your warm breath fillin' the air

The First Frost My Dear, your breath is the first thing I see

I open up my eyes and notice, that your smokin' up my heart

All the grapes are lost, but we saved a bottle of wine

Just in the nick of time, times are changin' glasses up, cheers to you and I

All the grass is froze, so cold on my toes, standin' out here all alone

Guess I'm just trying to say goodbye to the last six months of my life

The First Frost My Dear, your breath is the first thing I feel

Waking up in a cold room, with your warm breath fillin' the air

The First Frost My Dear, your breath is the first thing I see

I open up my eyes and notice, that your smokin' up my heart

The First Frost My Dear, you're the first thing I feel

The Frost My Dear, you're the first thing I see

The First Frost My Dear, You Are All I Need.
